Foot Reading Seminar

reflexology students
Three students receiving their VTCT Diploma in Reflexology certificates from visiting foot reader Jane Sheehan.

We’re very excited to be hosting this two day foot reading with internationally known foot reader Jane Sheehan, author of “Let’s Read Our Feet!”, “The Foot Reading Coach” and “Sole Trader: The Holistic Therapy Business Handbook.”. The success of Jane’s workshops has seen her make several appearances on ‘This Morning’, including reading Fern Britton’s feet. She’s has also worked and appeared on television in the USA, United Arab Emirates, Ireland and Australia. In addition, Jane is a regular on regional radio stations and has had various articles in such publications as “The Daily Mail”, “Top Sante” and “New Woman”.

Jane comments:  “We are all used to changing our facial expressions and hiding our true feelings, but we can’t do that with our feet – they tell the truth!  Simply by analysing the shapes of feet and toes, we can tell an awful lot about a person.  By using the guidelines set out in my workshop, you can make your treatments much more holistic by understanding not only the physical but the emotional aspects of the client.  You can also take it further and use foot reading as a self-help guide to improving your control over you own life. It’s a great tool for personal development.”

Following the great feedback from our first foot reading seminar, we’ll be looking to run this course again in the future. Please contact us to register your interest and we’ll keep you updated.

Who will benefit from the course?

The seminars will benefit anyone who has an interest in reflexology or personal development, you do not have to be qualified reflexologist to learn, benefit and enjoy this two day course.

Although aimed at people with no prior knowledge, Reflexologists will find their knowledge an advantage.  The benefit for them is to have a deeper understanding of the way emotional aspects and personalities are reflected on their clients’ feet.  This knowledge can be used in a therapeutic way by those with counselling skills or can be used to interest potential clients into learning more about what their feet can tell them in terms of health or emotional issues.

The aim of the day is to give techniques to allow the attendee to be able to read emotions and personality from the feet.  The theory given will allow them to extrapolate and arrive at an answer even when they are presented with something they haven’t seen before.

Day Two: Solestry Practise Day

Foot Reading and Reflexology This workshop enables attendees to practice their new found knowledge in a supportive environment with an experienced foot reader on hand to answer any questions that arise from the readings. This is very much a “hands-on” workshop.  As we can’t anticipate what “feet” will show up on the day, a selection of slides have been prepared just in case we don’t have the variety required.

The day will begin with an exercise to explain foot reading (to act as a refresher), and an exercise to gain new business, and then the rest of the day will be spent reading each other’s feet and reporting back to the group the surprise findings.  And Yes!  You can bring and refer to your notes and your books.  This is your opportunity to practice and improve your skills.

The workshop has rather an unusual side-effect.  You will be reading each others feet and swapping partners throughout the day.  There’ll be feedback about how to deliver information, how to release emotional blockages and general coaching skills.  Consequently, each reading you receive will, (as well as giving you ideas about how to do the foot readings effectively,) be sending you on your own personal journey of discovery.

Be prepared for a very interactive day.

What to bring

Attendees will need to bring a pen, paper and wear footwear which is conducive to easy removal.  They may also want to bring a wet wipe, as whilst they won’t be touching the feet, they may want to freshen up first!

If there is a particular query about something they have seen on a foot, attendees are asked to bring a good, clear photograph of about A4 size to share with the group.

CPD Points

Both days are CPD accredited with different reflexology associations. Members of FHT receive 5 CPD credits per day and members of the Association of Reflexologists receive 2 points per hour to a max.  The seminar attracts 5 points with the CThA.  IRI offer 50 points.  If you are with a different association, please contact your association to find out whether they will allow CPD points for this course.

Aromatherapists who are members of the IFA have 1 CPD point per each learning hour.

Please note that CPD applies to reflexologists and Aromatherapists who are members of IFA only.  If you are not a reflexologist you will need to check with your association to ascertain whether you can get CPD points or not.
